March Update

There are updates on the math and language pages as to what we have been working on.

Data management tests have been sent home and just a reminder that students are responsible for taking home any math work they do not finish in class. I discovered a lot of unfinished work in their books that should have been completed as homework.

This week we started multiplication and students are expected to know how to multiply 2 digits by 2 digits in grade 5. We do a quick times table drill each day, but the focus is on larger numbers. Please have your child practice their times tables at home, as well as double digit questions.

We will also be exploring different strategies to use as traditional algorithms don't work for everyone. We've picked up 2 strategies for 9 x's table and today Andrew shared one of his own.

Lattice is another method they will learn.

SCIENCE -  Powtoon presentations on matter are due this Friday.
